MY ART MARKET EXPERIENCES

Hello everyone!

As new as this blog space may be, I'll be trying to keep it active by posting various experiences on my journey as an independent illustrator, event updates, exciting collaborations and more! Are you as excited as I am?!

--- ART MARKET EXPERIENCES 2014 ---

Sarah Thursday launched on Halloween 2013, with only paper products such as cards, bookmarks, paper stickers and prints.

My first memorable art market was at National Design Centre organized by Public Garden in March 2014, and that was 5 months after opening online! My first batch of Handmade Journals & Raw Canvas Totes appeared that weekend, where I collected preorders for both merchandise. While the Raw Totes were not that well-received that time, I was elated to see people interested in the Handmade Journals! (:

My 2nd market was with The Local People SG (TLP). It was TLP's first ever Night Market tucked in a dark alley in Orchard, called Hoot Kiam Rd. It was a surreal yet amazing experience. The narrow alley was jam-packed by 7PM with artist booths and the public and it was so crowded people could hardly move! Sales were going great until unfortunately the storm came and everyone had to pack up at about 10PM. It was definitely an experience I would never forget.

In 2014, I went to a total of 12 Art Markets by Public Garden & TLP.

Other memorable ones in 2014 include my favourite Night Market that TLP collaborated with Singapore Arts Museum to end off the 2014 Singapore Night Festival. I hit record sales that night in 6 hours as the crowd was insanely supportive and I was kept busy meeting new supporters & friends the entire night!

If you recall seeing them on my Instagram or have been to any of these markets, I would like to thank you for staying with Sarah Thursday for so long! I promise more amazing markets to come with more merchandise!

Next Saturday, I'll be joining the 2015 TLP X SAM Night Market for the Night Festival once again, and I'm so excited for it! I'm preparing really hard for it so see you guys there (:
